Let Sleeping Cat's Lie written and directed by Andy Winward for the Fear Screen 48 Hour Film Challenge is a captivating and unique piece in looking into the themes of coercive control and manages to paint this picture clearly in it's short run time that is a testament to those that are.

I will admit that on my first viewing of the fiulm, it seemed a little jarring thast pi seemed to cut out at times and felt that the pacing of the film was bbeing slowed by it, however once realising that this was an artistic choice to highlight that the camera was cutting out at times and that the truth was becoming disjointed by what was appearing on the screen. there is a really gripping story that could stem itself into a much longer psycjological horror on control and the obsession of such with the groundwork laid in place, if that was something to go down.

I think that the chase sequence of the film was a bit out there if I'm truly honest. I got lost in what was truly happening and I feel that the cat element wasn't really necessary, but that is just my opinjion. it doesn't take away from the beautiful experimentation of camera angles and techniques that really stand this piece out alongside some incrediblt strong performances that sell this film and it's these performances that kept me gripped and wondering more about them. the exploration of the build up to the climax could have been strengthened.

Overall, Let Sleeping Cat's Lie is an exceptional film that blends together strong performances and experimental filmmaking that leaves audiences wondering what comes to next and there is a real sense of creativity within this piece.
